Hi there!
I spoke about my recent experiences going through some turbulent times recently. So many people reached out to me to let me know that the podcast resonated with them.
I'm really grateful for that response, and I hope that that level of vulnerability gives you courage to explore your strengths and weaknesses as well.
Here's what I learned from the whole process of being in conflict with family members.
- When going through a tough situation, pray without ceasing. Many times, during a trying conversation, or dealing with things that cropped up, I kept on whispering to God as I went through the day, "God help me, just help me." And often times, peace and strength to go through the day would come.
- No one is ever totally wrong, or right. I learned a lot about myself during the last couple months. I saw ugly sides of me, as well as in the people around me. I had to reckon with my own limitations and choose to grow instead of being incalcitrant.
- Be as kind to those around you. Choose kindness, even when it is hard to muster or demonstrate.
- Be gentle with yourself. Now, coming out of the entire difficult experience, I now understand that I was not able to be as productive or as focused as I usually am. Lower your expectations and increase your self love.
- I've put together a simple download for you, called 5 Ways to Weather the Storms of Life. Download it here, print it out, and stick it up on your workstation or your computer. They are handy reminders that you can be resilient!
