Going After Strong Knees!
"My knees are strong, in Jesus' name!" Who else needs to be confessing this statement from today? The last couple years, my knees have begun to hurt when I run, when I bend, or when I sit. And yes, stretching, weight lifting, and controlling my weight will definitely help relieve the pressure on my knees, but I also know the power of words to create the reality I want. And I want STRONG KNEES.
By the time you begin to read this article, I'll be out for my long, slow run today. This will be my fifth week of running outdoors this summer, and I'm really enjoying the exhilaration.
But every time I go out to run, I hobble around for the next couple days. Last week it was so painful that I almost thought about giving up on running. (You can read my article on Linkedin about that experience and what it takes to go after a dream here)
But I won't give up, especially when I know that I can have an alternative reality if I speak right and do the right things. I do believe that our words can create our reality. I have begun to confess "My knees are strong in Jesus' name", and "Every day I look and feel younger and younger".
There are too many people confessing death over themselves, "well you know, it's age.", "Well those knees are beginning to give way", and "the body is not what it used to be".
You might say, "But Lisa isn't that true? We are all getting older" To that, I say the following, "Yes we are, but you don't have to succumb to what everyone else is experiencing. Use your words to create the reality you want, not keep the one you don't."
I've been listening a lot to Terri Savelle Foy on Youtube and, her squeaky voice aside, she has reinvigorated my faith in affirmations, and vision and speaking the right words out of my mouth.
So I'm going to keep on confessing, "My knees are strong in Jesus' name", because they are.
However, we have to do the necessary things in this physical realm. You've got to take care of your knees as well as confess that you have strong knees. Below, I've provided the links to two really great articles about how to do that. Its a combination of losing excess weight, eating the right diet, strengthening your glutes, hamstrings and adductors, and STRETCHING!
P.S. So what about you? What confessions are you saying about yourself? Comment below this article please!
