God Leaves Clues
This week, I started Saturday Spa again. It's a LIVEstream on a Saturday morning where we just literally talk about God, and the journey of faith. I used to do this livestream a lot in the To All the Girls Success Club, which I recently shut down.
You can watch the replay of Saturday Spa here: https://www.youtube.com/live/qM84mYWX4Ko?si=cfm-3-RzEnX2cVGa), but I wanted to continue the conversation with you today.
I spoke about the process of faith and how when you ask God for something, we give up too early, and never experience our request being answered.
Lately I've been praying with a friend who asked that we pray for three specific things: a job, housing and a car.
The job came first and I was very encouraged and even excited. But my friend is growing in faith, so there was an element of stress that I did not experience because I have seen God work in my own life, incrementally.
Back when I was praying for a house, the first tangible sign that God would answer my prayers was this: that Christmas, my sister decided to move back to the US, and gave me almost all her furniture.
I remember that quickening of spirit when this happened! I knew, from reading the book The Fourth Dimension, that God leaves clues in the process of answering our prayers.
After I got the furniture, my prayers were heightened, my faith was invigorated and I continued to pray and thank God. Needless to say, the house came soon after.
So my friend got the job, and then a week later got housing. The vehicle proved difficult for a lot of practical reasons. Having just begun a job, no one wanted to bet on such an individual. My friend was stressed. I was not. You see, if God began it, He will FINISH it! "He who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it!"
Every door seemed shut, but I kept on believing, and my friend kept on asking, knocking on doors, submitting applications.
And then one day, somene approved the application. The last thing we were praying for - a vehicle - had come!
That is the way of God. That is the way of a Father who is not just Jehovah Jireh, but also Jehovah El Shaddai. He is all powerful and He is your Provider.
God leaves clues,You don't have to stress yourself out worrying about whether God will answer you or not.
There is another story in the Bible that further explains how God works in faith. In 1 Kings 18: 41-45, Elijah prayed for rain and then sent out his servant Gehazi to see if the rain had come. 7 times Gehazi reported that there was nothing in sight, and Elijah kept sending him out. Finally after the 7th time, Gehazi reported that there was a cloud, "as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea". Soon, the cloud turned into major dark clouds of thundershowers. What would have happened if Elijah had given up? If he had not known to expect to see the signs? You too, need to look for the signs that God is answering your prayers. The answer is often times a process, and not a one time delivery!
Here's the question that I'd like you to think about today: is God in the process of answering your prayer today? What are the signs that the answer is on its way? Send me back an email at lisa@lisamdublin.
Also, make sure to click here to watch Saturday Spa from Saturday, August 17, where I talk about how God leaves clues!
Let's strengthen our faith in God, y'all! He answers prayers.
