1. Write down daily goals, daily.

2. Use the right examples to help the interviewers see you as a problem solver.
This week I was on an interview panel to choose the right candidate for an executive position. Whenever we asked the question “Tell me about a time when”, the candidate’s answer not only let us see their competencies but helped us (in light of the organization’s present difficulties) to envision them solving specific problems. In an interview, carefully tailor your examples to powerfully highlight your competencies. This is because your interviewers are also assessing your ability to come in and solve problems that you don’t know about.
*In an interview, use examples that highlight your best qualities (Tweet this!)
3.Your business ideas can come from your routine
This week, after my normal run on the treadmill, I jumped on FB Live to talk about daily goal setting. It turned out that what impacted people more was not my little talk on goal setting, but the fact that they got to see me in my routine, unsuspecting biceps and all. I’ve been meaning to do FB Live for weeks, but because I hate wasting people’s time, I’ve hesitated, trying to find something specific and intentional to say. And I think, just like that, I found my thing - morning inspiration, not just goal setting - but a call to seize the day based on how you start it - with a great routine. I didn’t have to do anything extra to demonstrate morning inspiration, morning routine, morning carpe diem-ness because it is what I do anyways.
