Beauty is NOT a stereotype - Beauty is YOU

Shows diversity, unity among women

To all the girls who are beautiful but don’t think it
To all the girls who rock with what they have, regardless
To all the girls who put grooming on it and put loving on it and put care on it...

Hey, did you know that you are beautiful because you are you, not because society approves the way you look, the color of your skin, the texture of your hair, or where you live or how you sound. Beauty is not a stereotype. Yes. Beauty is you. Beauty is you. Beauty is you. Is it sinking in yet? The precise composition and ordering of your personality, your looks, your sound, your body, your quips and quirks, are what make you beautiful. Pause and think of that, girl.

Now, what do you do with something that you consider beautiful? You take care of it. Therefore take care of you. No matter how you look, or how much you weigh, or what your circumstance, you take care of yourself. Honestly, have you ever met a girl who you might not consider pretty, but who is so well put together, so kind, or so well groomed, that you end up admiring her as beautiful anyway?

No matter whether you consider someone beautiful or not, how they take care of themselves stands in the way of how you might think of them. Well groomed is well groomed no matter the person. Clean and tidy is clean and tidy no matter the person. Poised and well mannered shows up the same way no matter the person. You know what I mean? Beauty starts with radically accepting and appreciating the raw material of yourself, good and bad.

So this week, be confident in your beauty. Take care of spirit, soul and body. Take care of all aspects of you.

Exercise tip this week: Do your abs just before you hit the shower
For years, I've been regularly doing my abdominal exercises just before I hit the shower. I just drop down on the floor and do about 50 bicycle kicks, or planks, or flutter kicks. The habit forms because I've tied abs exercises to something I do regularly - shower.

What I Learned this Week: Be Open to New Ideas
As we get older, we get settled in our ways. Don’t do that, girl. Stay young by challenging yourself to learn something new, or do something new this week. It might just be to open an app on your phone that you’ve never explored before, or to attempt a new exercise this week. Try something new today.

Quote I loved this Week: Cal Newport, So Good They Can’t Ignore You
‘I am suggesting that you put aside the question of whether your job is your true passion, and instead turn your focus toward becoming so good they can’t ignore you.'
